Dear Friends,
we can now begin to present, one at a time, the celebrations that took place during the World Rosary Day, as illustrated by the plentiful and beautiful footage and imagery that were sent to the website.
Naturally, the starting point is the Marian Grotto in the Māori Nation (New Zealand), dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, which started the prayer marathon at 7PM of October 7th 2024. I refer to the April 26 letter by Fr. Philip Cody S.M., the Parish Priest, describing the origin of the local devotion and Mary’s role in spreading the Catholic faith in the region.
Besides our dear Fr. Cody, who has been instrumental in organizing the celebration, we must thank Fr. Tim Duckworth S.M., the Provincial of the Marists (Societas Mariae), who also fully and generously supported the initiative.
Last but nost least, we congratulate and thank Oriwia Raureti and her brother Heitia Raureti for the shooting and editing of the visuals, and Uru Cooper, Principal of the local school, for the participation of lovely children.
The following short film is obviously just a “teaser”, to provide an impression of what took place, whereas more extended segments will appear in the documentary.
Yours truly,
Umberto Angeloni
